Oh Lu I feel your pain. I have had to go through this with my dogs. 11 dogs and 3 cats and one is just as difficult as the other. I put my trust and faith in the vet to know when the time was right. He always told me that if they can't take care of their daily functions and are in pain to let them go. My last girl was 18 year old austrailian sheapard. They said she must have been very happy and extremly well taken care of as they rarely live that long. You will know if Max's time has come, you will want to do the right thing for him. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and Max. Take care Lu. MUCH LOVE (((HUGS))) JODI
I am so sorry you are hurting. Decisions can be h3ll to make. I have had to do it twice in the last couple of years. You and Max will know when the time is right. Just look into his eyes and he will tell you when. We are taking my Capone, who I cremated, to my sisters 40 acre property in Washington this week. His ashes will be scattered with Bandit's. You have given Max some wonderful years he would not have had if not for you and your love. Crying now and cannot see, so I gotta go. Sending tons of peace and love your way.
The Rainbow Bridge
There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys, with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. Old and frail animals are young again. Those who are maimed are made whole. They play all day with each other.
There is only one thing missing. They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth. So, each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up! The nose twitches! The ears are up! The eyes are staring! And this one suddenly runs from the group!
You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her in your arms and embrace. Your face is kissed again and again and again, and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.
